Thank you for rescuing these! I am a sentimental sap and think these types of things need to be saved and preserved! Love that you shared them with us!
I think it’s wonderful that you’ve begun to put these special items to use. As you mention, it can seem so sad to have things which clearly meant a great deal to someone end up discarded as they are. Inquiring minds (like mine) long to know the stories behind the story.
My mother was an antique dealer for many years. The name of her business was Ephemera Treasures. She loved all the little unique finds. She bought, sold, and collected so many paper items, ads, valentines, etc. She also specialized in antique photography such as daguerreotypes which are photos printed on mirrored glass. They are the oldest form of photography. Anyway, I love that you see the sentiment of some of the things you find. Thank you for remembering the owners of your finds. You two are special people.
That is so cool! I had to look up daguerreotypes and oh my gosh, wow! Those are absolutely gorgeous, I spent a while looking through images of them and appreciate you turning me on to them. Thank you for your comment, Barbara!
"Elaine ...my heart aches..." that is just so sweet. I find it hard to throw away these little notes and cards of sweet memories. Much love from Rissy in Vancouver BC 🇨🇦
I’m a keeper of ephemera. I still have stationery sheets that a friend gave me in middle school hmmm, 1975 or so. I also saved letters from friends I met at camp 1979/80. I’d have more but my parents basement flooded and I lost many items. I love writing letters and have been corresponding with a great niece . Trying to keep letter writing alive!

I am an ephemera junkie. I love old letters, scraps of paper and whatever comes my way. Always collected those bits and pieces of history. 💚💚💚
