That "Frankenstine" to Zombie essay is marvelous. Thank you for rescuing these gems and sharing them with the world, and yes, perhaps you'll find people related to your paper finds!
Sad that folk throw away what they consider to be trash. These are part of a person's growing life and all have meaning. I have kept my own school reports and photos, and also some of my late mum's school stuff too. Too sentimental to trash.
As a retired teacher, I really enjoyed reading the Monster letter. I taught elementary and hope none of my students thought of me as a Monster.😂 I’m guessing that student wasn’t a fan of math and would have called ANY math teacher a Monster.😂 I’m guessing it was a writing assignment.
I did notice Elmer. Looks like he may have been a student crossing guard. Students in my school district were still wearing the crossing guard belts when I retired in 2012.
Aww, I didn't notice Elmer. I love that name too. My aunts had some old fashioned names like theirs. Alma Fern, Marjory Anis, Delores (they went by Aunt Babe, Aunt Mitney and Aunt Dee) : )
Fun to look at and read. The “Frankenstein” was a good one. lol. I enjoy seeing what both of you rescue. I hope you find a lot of good things in the college dumpsters!
The old photographs! I can't bear that people throw them out. I collect old prints whenever I find them at random craft fairs - especially damaged ones, which I can scan in and then spend hours restoring digitally. All these are beautiful.
They are the same age…11 but Elmer is in a higher grade. I’m guessing they’re like my brother and I. We are the same age for a week until I have my birthday and I get to be the oldest again. 😆

Where do you go to on your site for items you are selling?
We don’t sell anything online right now
I’d like to see all 3 of Thelma’s pictures side by side. Fun pictures!
You made us realize that little girl may also be Thelma! There wasn’t any writing on the back so we didn’t make the connection. How wonderful!
And what a great name…Thelma Bea…♥️
And did you notice the little boy above her is her brother, Elmer Lee! Adorable names.
